Hebrews 10:26 -31
For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain terrifying expectation of judgment, and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay." And again, "The Lord will judge his people." 31 It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
This is a dangerous topic to discuss but a very important one.
What does it mean to trample upon in the first place? In olden times, worthless stuff are thrown on roads and the people walk on it(or trample upon it). There is a parable that says if the salt loses it saltiness, it is good to be thrown on the road for men to trample upon. In today's language, it would be throwing into a wastebasket.
One Christian named ABCD who was very poor in wealth received the gospel. He was very zealous in prayer and attending church. After a few years, he became rich. After becoming rich, his zeal in prayer has lost, his church attendance diminished a lot since he was very busy. Why he lost zeal or the interest? He got what he wanted and he threw Jesus on the road to trample upon. He doesn't need Jesus as he used to be. Now, he has no time for Jesus. The value of Jesus became waste in the waste basket. Can ABCD go to heaven? Answer yourself.
Another Christian named DEFG also very zealous in praying to God. He became successful. He became an Engineer and could migrate to the USA. He is now in the USA working as a lead programmer. He despises those who are unsuccessful in the church. Let me ask you one question. Whom does he despise? The poor or unsuccessful church brother. But in reality, he despises Jesus. Despise means to value something as negligible or he doesn't value them anymore. He doesn't want to contact or spent time with them. He wants only guys who are richer than himself. What did Jesus ask Saul? Saul was killing Christians thinking that he is serving God. But, Jesus asked him " Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?". When we despise the least of the brethren you are despising the precious saviour Jesus. Let me give another parable to discuss it. Jesus on the judgement day, he divides the church to sheep and goats. What did Jesus tell to goats?
Please read Matthew 25:41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
Now, let me ask you one question. If you trample upon Jesus will you go to heaven? Answer yourself.
Another Christian whose name is GHIJ, he is very talented in preaching the bible. But, he is so scared that who will listen to his preaching since lots of youtube videos available today. Who will listen to simple me? He devoted himself to engineering Job and married a pretty south Indian lady. Pretty South Indian ladies only want engineers and he knows the secret. Who will marry me if I preach the word? So, he hid his talent. That is same as despising the grace. It is same as trampling upon the grace of Jesus or Jesus himself. What did the master reply to the lazy servant who hid his talent under the earth in the parable? The master threw him to hell. Now, answer yourself. If you trample upon his grace or Jesus himself, will you go heaven or not?
